On Saturday, a regimental Court martial was held at Huddersfield, on the private, who misconducted himself at the attack on Rawfolds mill, in refusing or neglecting to
defend it in the manner he ought to have done, he was guilty of neglect of duty, and was sentenced to receive 300 lashes. On Tuesday morning, he was marched, escorted by a detachment of dragoons, to
Rawfold the scene of action, where he was tied up, and received about 25 lashes, the remainder of his punishment being remitted at the earnest and repented intercession of Mr. Cartwright.
